Jack Frost Inspired Water Marble by Alchemical Jack Frost Inspired Water Marble by Alchemical
My boyfriend took me to see Rise of the Guardians during Thanksgiving break. If you haven't seen it yet you need to! I like animated films, but I'll admit this one was especially awesome. So good, in fact, that I decided to honor it with a manicure.

This is a water marble that I stamped over. I was going for an icy swirling wind sort of look, reminiscent of Jack Frost.

I have another manicure based on the film planned but I need to redo it. I wasn't satisfied with the results. I'll be posting that soon, possibly tomorrow.

I have more nail art, as well as additional information, on my blog: [link]

This is so delicate ! Do you think it's possible to handmake the icy flakes ? Or it would be too difficult ?
I ask you cause I want to try it but I have no" stamp "

You definitely could! I don't freehand anything that fine because I need new detailing brushes, but if you have the right tools it shouldn't be too hard at all. Snowflakes should be easy enough since they're geometric.

omg i love this although i am having difficulty with nailing water marbling lol what kind of polish did you use and also what did you use for the snowflake design

I use a lot of different polishes, from Sinful Colors to OPI. Here I used Essie, Sally Hansen and two colors from Nicole by OPI. Not everything will water marble, you just need to experiment with them. I find a lot of metallics won't marble well (some kind of break apart), and anything too glittery is the same.

Also, you might want to try using distilled water to marble with. If your water is hard (mine is) it seems to negatively affect the marbling process. If you don't have distilled water, try letting your water sit out over night. I've found that helps, too.

And the snowflakes are stamped on using Bundle Monster plates. The silver color of them is from an Essie polish. ^______^

awesome thank you for the advice...I have been using China Glaze nail polish since that is the rband I buy alot of and it doesnt take very well to water marbling....I may also try setting the water out overnight like you said to do and try that as well

also if you were to do this with fake nails would I need to apply the nails on before or after i do the marbleing

I'd probably do it before applying the them. You'd just need to be extra careful not to let any of the excess marbling get onto the acrylics.

I'm a little obsessed with water marbling, but I've been doing ebru a lot longer than I've been doing nail art so I guess it makes sense. ^___^
